NEW COMMANDER FOR

THE EAGLES

King Dirk has confirmed that the new commanding general of the Bereny Eagles Elite Fighters, following the death of General Elderon Gout, is to be the elven warrior Laurelin Oakheart, currently serving as a Major in the Eagles.

“General Gout's tragic loss was a blow to the entire adventuring community, but I have no doubt that his successor will continue his legacy, and lead the Eagles to a thriving and prosperous future,” said the King. “A hearty good luck to you, madam.”

The newly-promoted General seems to have decided to drop the surname of her former husband Baron Marius Aiglenoir from her name on assuming command of the Eagles. The late Baron, who was himself a former commander of BEEF, was outlawed for rebellion against the regency of King Dirk following the death of King Mark III, and was killed by his wife in a duel in the courtyard of Central Dungeon in 515.

The King has also confirmed that he is bestowing on the General the barony traditionally associated with command of the Eagles.

“Thank you for this great trust you have placed in me,” Baroness Oakheart said in response to the King’s proclamation. “I have honoured the Eagles oath all my life and worked my way up the ranks over the course of my adventuring career. I will endeavour to continue in General Gout's footsteps.”

Laurelin Oakheart is most famous as having been the slayer of the demon princess Jennata in the Cathedral of the Holy Light. Despite this achievement her part in this battle has been marred by accusations that she disregarded the orders of the Crown’s appointed commander in the Cathedral, Baron Allanon, in pursuit of personal glory. She has always vigorously denied such accusations.
