KING APPOINTS OAKEN MAN TO MONSTER COMMISSION
Dateline: 22-
The Oakenman Huorn is the latest recruit to the ‘Monster Commission’.
King Dirk has appointed a new member to the Crown Commission for the Protection of Monsters, the committee appointed by the Crown to assess applications from monsters to be granted the rights of Berenian citizens.
The new member is Huorn, an Oaken Man -
“I believe your input, as a member of a race once considered monstrous, but now accepted
as legally-
“I admit to being a bit surprised that you even know of my existence, much less that you decided to appoint me”, Huorn responded. “Humbly, I would be willing to serve to the best of my abilities, as meagre as those abilities may be.”
The appointment is rumoured to have been backed by the Duchess of Ghorst, to whom the oakenman is a trusted retainer.
The new member of the commission will be joining such notables as Lord Ismay Shepherd, the Lord Crusader of Cambron, Count Hellstromm of the Vampire Council, the former Lord Crusader of Shanna Lady Jasmine, and noted scholar Abbott Heri Sanberligne.
The first case on their agenda is likely to be that of Sharra Goldoak, an elven warrior maiden who recently returned from an investigation into some sort of parallel demon dimension, reportedly as part of an attempt to locate the source of the Helltroops attacking Crownheart on behalf of the Walkers on the Edge. Unfortunately, following an encounter with helltroops on their ‘home turf’, she has returned as an animated undead skeleton.
As a senior Walker and veteran hero of Bereny who had a prominent role in the Battle of Poldoon, she has petitioned the Commission to be granted the protection of the Crown.
