WHAT IS THE HIGH PRIEST PLANNING FOR THE WORD OF THE SIX?

By our Church Correspondent

Dateline: 18-2-518

Talk among priests and crusaders in the Crownheart area is that a new missionary expedition to spread the word of the Right and Holy Six may be in the works. Past High Priests have sponsored such efforts, most recently with High Priest Emerick when substantial resources were devoted to the Glaciers and the barbarian tribes there.

While Derwent and the Frontier seem the most likely choices for such an effort, inside sources indicate a third possibility - the Fey Lands. "Certainly with the Fey's connection to Nature, they should know Shanna's authority", said one priest we spoke with.

And it seems that it is not only the Church that has developed a sudden interest in the Land of the Fey. There are unconfirmed rumours that the White Tower is also sponsoring an expedition there.

Yet the Fey realm is in many ways quite different from another land within Myriad; it is a completely separate world - a world where many of the laws of reality that we take for granted in Myriad simply do not apply. And while it might not be as grim and foreboding as that other and even more notorious parallel world, the Daemonrift, it is reputed to be just as dangerous to travellers from Myriad.

“Over the years we have received many visitors from the Land of the Fey here in Bereny”, an expert told us, “and there is evidence that in the distant past some of the races of Myriad - the gnomes and the elves for example - may even have originated there. But make no mistake, the Fey realm is utterly alien to ours. It is a world much more bound up in magic. Its inhabitants can take many forms - they can be cute and enchanting, but they can equally be strange and terrible, and not by any means always friendly.”

So, it seems that the High Priest may have chosen a most difficult endeavor to undertake in these troubled times, and not least because reports indicate that the Land of the Fey has itself recently been plunged into conflict between rival powers within the so-called ‘Unseely Court’ that controls it.
