WALKERS STIR THINGS

UP AT CASTLE LEXOR

Dateline: 9-3-517

The evidence now seems undeniable that the attacks on Bereny are being organised from Castle Lexor.

It has been revealed that the force of adventurers who travelled with the Wooden Horse into the Brokenlands have come under sustained attack by the very same Helltroops that have been attacking Crownheart in recent days.

After initial success at breaking into the castle and defeating its undead guardians, the expedition has now been attacked by a horde of the same swarming demonic horrors that are terrorising the Crownheart area. They have inflicted a number of casualties on the Walkers and their allies, and sadly we have learnt that among them was our intrepid reporter accompanying the mission, Andrew Gilligan.

According to reports, the creatures appeared almost from no-where without warning, as if called forth from the Demon dimension to defend the castle against its attackers. This would suggest that if Lord Lexor is in residence in the castle, he is starting to get worried about the Walker’s success. It also provides clear evidence, if any more were needed, that the attack on Crownheart is the work of Lexor.

The initial force which arrived on the Wooden Horse was comprised primarily of members of The Walkers on the Edge, and it is believed that the Guild’s entire leadership is now in the castle. In recent days they have been re-inforced by other adventurers, some of whom have travelled there by magical means, some of whom, it is rumoured, have made the arduous overland trek across the Spirit Mountains from Bereny, and some of whom claim to have no memory of how they got there.

Lord Sigmund DeBarbarac of the IGW described the scene for the benefit of some of the newcomers. “We're far to the west of Bereny and far to the north of the Great Glacier, so you are a long way indeed from home. The castle nearby is the domain of Lexor, powerful evil being and even larger braggart. I would suggest new arrivals join those of us camped outside the castle for the moment - we're fending off rampaging dinosaurs and evil creatures, and regrouping. While some of the denizens of this place are relatively harmless, being eaten by a Tyrannosaur is not a pleasant experience.”

It has already been revealed that Lexor was conspiring with Count Kainen, and he seems to have been behind the goblin invasion and the antithetical church. If reports that the Helltroops he has under his command originate from the Daemonrift are true, then he may also be conspiring with the Daemon Lords. If true, then it is no exaggeration to say that the fate of Bereny itself may well depend on the heroism of Baron D'Alembert and his band of Walkers.
