ELVEN SKELETAL WARRIOR TURNED DOWN BY MONSTER COMMISSION

Dateline: 7-12-517

The Crown Commission for the Protection of Monsters, the committee appointed by the Crown to assess applications from monsters to be granted the rights of Berenian citizens, has turned down an application from former elven warrior maiden and heroine of the Walkers on the Edge, Sharra Goldoak.

Sharra was part of a Walker’s mission to explore demonic dimensions in the hope of locating the source of the Helltroops attacking Crownheart. “We had just begun to explore the Demon Land of the Maw, reached via the Shadowrift,” she told the Bugle. “Once through the Gate I encountered a Helltroop unit carrying a banner proclaiming themselves as the "Guardians of the Maw" and they pounced on me spitting chemical fire that burned me deeply. Though I did strike them greviously in return, in just a few moments I was dead”.

“However we Avenging Maidens typify the Walker ethos and we find it hard just to stay dead, so my fae powers brought me back as a Skeletal Avenger. I took up my armour and weapons and attacked the Helltroops again... and again. However more and more of them could be seen coming, and there were only six of us, so we were forced to retreat back through the gate.”

“So now I am back, but I am undead.”

Sharra Goldoak is famed for her part in the Battle of Poldoon, and was with fellow Walker Baroness Glaze Fierien when she slew King Slime.

The Commission has not made its ruling public but the Bugle understands that it declined to support her application. Although it recognised her distinguished record in the defence of Bereny, it would appear that some of the members were concerned over whether Sharra deliberately chose to become undead or not.

“Although I’m disappointed that the Monster Commission has decided not to grant me protected status yet, none of the religious types actually voted ‘Die undead scum’", Sharra told us. “Instead they all agreed that I should spend a year working for the Crown, and they would then vote again.”

In order to fulfil the Commissions requirement, Sharra has accepted an appointment within the Duke of Poldoon’s new Poldoon Border Scouts.
